Dubbed “American Treasure,” the 60-track box set will feature previously unreleased music and live recording from Tom Petty and is set to be released on Sept. 28, SiriusXM’s Tom Petty Radio channel announced today.

The materials were selected by Petty’s daughter Adria, is wife Dana, former Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell and keyboardist Benmont Tench, along with “studio collaborator” Ryan Ulyate.

Meanwhile, Tom Petty‘s official website appears to have a new countdown clock, together with an image of singer-songwriter, with the clock set to expire on 7 AM PT on Wednesday, July 11. This leads meany to speculate that more announcements and details will be coming tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Tom Petty died of an accidental overdose last October just a few weeks after the Heartbreakers’ last performance on their 40th Anniversary Tour. He was 66 years of age.

Petty was indicted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in December 2001 in New York along with his band the Heartbreakers. In 2005, he received the Billboard Century Award, the organization’s highest honor for creative achievement. In total, the artist has released three solo albums and thirteen with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
