This year’s nominations for the 73rd annual Tony Awards has been announced, which honors the best plays, musicals, and performances of Broadway season 2018-2019.

Gayle King, together with Tony Award-winning actress Bebe Neuwirth and Brandon Victor Dixon revealed this year’s nominees on Tuesday morning.

“The Ferryman” the leader in the main categories, scoring nominations for best play, best actor in a play and best actress in a play for Paddy Considine and Laura Donnelly.

Written by Jez Butterworth, the critically acclaimed play tells the story of the family of a former IRA activist, living in their farmhouse in rural Northern Ireland in 1981.

“Hadestown” is also well-represented in the nominations list. The stage musical adaptation, which tells a version of the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, where Orpheus journeys to the underworld to rescue his fiancée Eurydice, led all nominations with 14 in total, with noms in major acting categories with the exception of Best Actor.
