To celebrate both occasions, there will be plenty of Batman related features on the streaming service such as comics, movies, tv shows and documentaries among others, along with original content featuring DC’s most popular heroes.

“This weekend as we celebrate one of our most iconic heroes, we launch a digital service that unites Super Heroes from every corner of the DC universe, from our most treasured films and comics to exclusive originals all-in-one place,” said Warner Bros. Digital Networks President Craig Hunegs.

“DC UNIVERSE stands out as a fan-first service in what is quickly becoming a crowded marketplace of consumer choices. The fan response has exceeded our wildest expectations and we’re excited to share this truly unique experience with everyone.”

“Titans,” based on the DC Comics team of the same name and will feature Brenton Thwaites star as Dick Grayson/Robin, is set to premiere in the streaming service. This will be followed by Young Justice: Outsiders, Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, Harley Quinn and Stargirl.

Subscription to DC Universe costs $7.99 per month or $74.99 annually and will be made available for iOS and Android devices, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Roku and Android TV.

Today, Marvel and top podcast listening service and content network Stitcher (“Heaven’s Gate,” “Katie Couric”) launched the wide release of “Wolverine: The Long Night.”

The first two episodes of the 10-episode series are now available on all major podcast platforms and devices for audiences worldwide, and the remaining episodes will be released weekly. Subscribers to Stitcher Premium are able to listen to all ten episodes now.

As Marvel’s first-ever scripted podcast, the series has received critical acclaim from around the globe. Called “a masterclass in dramatic realism” by the Financial Times, “Wolverine: The Long Night” has received universal praise for its story, sound production, voice acting, and its thrilling hybrid of mystery and the larger-scale fantasy of the Marvel Universe.

The show was named as one of the “50 Best Podcasts to Listen to Right Now” by Time Magazine and featured in Mashable, TechCrunch, Wired, Vulture, Studio 360 and more.

With its wide release, listeners can tune in to their favorite podcast platforms and follow Special Agents Sally Pierce and Tad Marshall as they investigate a string of mysterious deaths in Burns, Alaska. They soon find there’s more going on than meets the eye.

The show stars Celia Keenan-Bolger and Ato Essandoh as Agents Pierce and Marshall, with Richard Armitage as Wolverine. The show’s cast also includes notable actors Scott Adsit (“30 Rock”), Bob Balaban (“Moonrise Kingdom”) and Brian Stokes Mitchell (“Mr. Robot”).

This December, Otto Octavius will leave the moniker of Doctor Octopus behind…and forever become THE SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN. The new ongoing series will be penned by Christos Gage (Spider-Geddon) with art by Mike Hawthorne (Deadpool), a collaboration that will also mark a renewal of Hawthorne’s Marvel exclusive.

“I’m more than thrilled to renew my exclusive with the folks at Marvel,” Hawthorne said. “I want to emphasize folks’ here, as I think we often talk about Marvel as this big entity that just makes things happen. It gives me a chance to illustrate how Otto’s approach and demeanor differs from Peter, and to build on a story that I find very compelling. Christos, [editor] Nick [Lowe] and [editor] Kathleen [Wisneski] have shown a willingness to trust me and let me do my thing, which allows me to do my best work. Honestly, I haven’t been this excited to work on a new book since the beginning of Deadpool!”

This November, Riri Williams is forging her own path…into a brand-new ongoing series. Announced today on The Chicago Tribune and Marvel.com, Riri’s new story will bring out her hometown roots with Eve L. Ewing at the helm, as the award-winning author of Electric Arches makes her Marvel debut! A poet, scholar and artist whose work has appeared in the New York Times and The Atlantic, Eve will be joined on the series by Champions artist Kevin Libranda.

“People don’t just gravitate toward Hulk or Captain America or Spider-Man because of their powers, the reason they say so-and-so is my favorite superhero is because of who they are as people and about what they stand for,” Ewing told The Chicago Tribune in an interview. “So I think the really exciting thing is really building out Riri, not as just Ironheart, but who is she as a person?”

First created by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato Jr., Riri made her Marvel Universe debut following the events of Civil War II, when she used her own teenage genius smarts to suit up in the wake of Tony Stark’s absence.
