Panel and First Ever U.S. Screening of Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FOREVER Announced as Part of Nerdist House 2020

Nerdist will partner with Shout! Factory TV and Team Kamen Rider to bring fans an exclusive virtual panel and screening of Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FOREVER as part of the Nerdist House 2020 programming slate. More details and announcements about Nerdist House are forthcoming, but fans of the iconic Kamen Rider should mark their calendars for a July 11 event, which has already been teased by TokuSHOUTsu, Shout! Factory TV’s new streaming channel dedicated to tokusatsu (Japanese live action special effects/genre shows) such as Kamen Rider, Ultraman, and Super Sentai.

Details are still being finalized, but the panel will be moderated by Nerdist’s Kyle Anderson and is set to include Team Kamen Rider, Tokunation, Tokusatsu Network, and other special guests. A special message from a Kamen Rider actor will play before the film, so fans should keep an eye on Team Kamen Rider for that reveal. Also noteworthy, Kamen Rider Heisei Generations FOREVER will not be streaming anywhere until the end of the summer, so this screening event will be fans’ only chance to watch the film until then.

The panel will be carried on Nerdist’s YouTube Channel and will simultaneously stream on the Geek & Sundry YouTube Channel and Geek & Sundry’s Twitch Channel. The film will only screen on Nerdist’s YouTube Channel and on Geek & Sundry’s YouTube Channel.

The Boys Returns September 4 To Amazon Prime Video For A F***Ing Diabolicla Second Season Debut

Fan Favorite Superhero Satire Will Drop Three Episodes on Premiere Day With New Episodes Every Friday Through October 9

June 26, 2020 – Amazon Prime Video today announced that the hit superhero satire The Boys will premiere the first three episodes of its second season Friday, September 4, 2020. New episodes will be available each Friday culminating in an epic season finale on October 9. The news comes on the heels of the cast coming together for a virtual event, hosted by season two guest star Patton Oswalt, that looked back on season one and also dropped hints for the upcoming season. The eight-episode Amazon Original series will be available on Prime Video in more than 200 territories around the world, and is produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television Studios with Point Grey Pictures, Kripke Enterprises and Original Film.

Today’s streaming event also contained a sneak preview of the new season, with the cast and executive producer Eric Kripke revealing the opening moments of season two.

Creator and executive producer Eric Kripke says, “We cannot WAIT to show you season two. It’s crazier, stranger, more intense, more emotional. In fact, it’s too much — so the Surgeon General** has insisted we air the first three episodes on September 4, then air the remaining five episodes weekly after that. We wanted to give you time to freak out, digest, discuss, come down from the high, before we give you another dose. We only have your well-being in mind. Hope you love the season as much as we do.

The grim darkness of Warhammer 40,000 comes to Marvel Comics this October

A legendary Space Marine Chapter Master of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, Marneus Calgar leads his elite Ultramarines against humanity’s greatest threats and has had his dark past shrouded in mystery…until now. This October, writer Kieron Gillen (Uncanny X-Men, Journey Into Mystery, The Wicked + The Divine) and artist Jacen Burrows (Punisher: Soviet, Moon Knight) will unite to tell Marneus Calgar’s never-before-told origin story – from his beginnings on the world of Nova Thulium, his campaigns in the Black Crusades, and to the unfolding mystery of the Black Altar as a deadly threat from his past reemerges to threaten the present of the Ultramar system.

Gillen, a veteran player of the Warhammer tabletop miniature wargame, can barely contain his enthusiasm for the series. “I am venerable enough to have bought Rogue Trader in 1987,” he reveals. “Since then, I like to think every hastily dry-brushed Necron, every badly edge-highlighted Marine, every ignored Harlequin (as painting Motley petrified me) has prepared me for writing the first Warhammer comics for Marvel. If I said, ‘Getting to explore the roots of Marneus Calgar and setting the stage for Marvel’s Warhammer comics is a dream come true,’ I would be betraying everything this grim future should be since ‘dream’ implies the possibility of hope. But getting to do this is the sort of thing Slaanesh would wave in my direction if she wanted me coming over to the tentacle-y side.”

What Michael Keaton’s Return As Batman Could Mean for the DCEU and the Snyder Cut

Keaton is in talks to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne in “The Flash,” and his return could have big ramifications for the DC comics film universe

In what is probably the biggest development for the DC Extended Universe (aka the DC Comics movieverse), Michael Keaton is in talks to return the role for which he was best known: Batman. It’s a surprising development for a universe of films that already has two Batmans. But the way that Warner Bros is bringing him back could provide the studio with a way to sort of reboot this franchise, which has been without any sort of narrative center since 2017’s “Justice League.”

Keaton will make his return as Bruce Wayne in the long-delayed “The Flash” movie, which makes so much sense. You may recall that at San Diego Comic-Con in 2017, Warner Bros announced that the Flash film would be called “Flashpoint.” The planned film no longer has that title, but will still be based in part on the “Flashpoint” comic.

‘Spider-Man’ writer says James Cameron made Hollywood take superhero genre seriously

Throughout the 1990s, James Cameron fought long and hard to make his very own Spider-Man film.

Unfortunately for Cameron, and cinema fans, even though he was attached to write and direct a Spider-Man film for Carolco Pictures, the Oscar winner ultimately left the project after years of legal battles over the rights.

Ultimately, Columbia Pictures won this fight, which resulted in Sam Raimi’s 2002 Spider-Man blockbuster. However, screenwriter David Koepp has revealed that he was still heavily inspired by Cameron’s work, especially when it came to Hollywood taking Peter Parker, and the superhero genre in general, seriously.

Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman Returns and Meets a New Enemy in Clip of Zack Snyder’s Justice League

Wonder Woman is meeting one of DC’s greatest villains.

Gal Gadot returns to her superheroine in the first clip of HBO Max’s Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

In the clip, Wonder Woman approaches a mural of the supervillain Darkseid, one of Superman’s adversaries. Darkseid was originally intended to be Snyder’s main villain in the film before he was replaced by Joss Whedon with Steppenwolf, one of Darkseid’s minions. Whedon took over for Snyder on the 2017 film after he stepped down following the death of his daughter.

After Wonder Woman views the mural, the clip cuts to the aforementioned villain on the planet Apokolips where he gathers a massive army.

‘Snyder Cut’ First Look: Wonder Woman Discovers Darkseid in New ‘Justice League’ Clip

Director Zack Snyder debuted a sneak peek of the mythical “Snyder Cut,” his unreleased version of the 2017 superhero film “Justice League.”

The clip, which runs at 34 seconds, puts the spotlight on Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman as she discovers the villainous Darkseid.

In a voiceover, Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor ominously says, “The bell’s already been rung, and they’ve heard it. Out in the dark among the stars. Ding dong. The god is dead.”

Darkseid was intended to be the main antihero in “Justice League” but was replaced with the character Steppenwolf in the final version.

Legendary ‘Batman’ Writer And DC Comics Editor Denny O’Neil Dead At 81

O’Neil worked for many years at both DC and Marvel Comics.

Denny O’Neil, a legend in the comic book industry who worked for both DC Comics and Marvel as an editor and writer, died Thursday at the age of 81 from natural causes.

O’Neil was born in 1939 and previously worked as a reporter in Missouri before penning a series of articles about the comic book industry in the mid-1960s that led to a career at Marvel and then at DC.

Over the course of more than three decades, O’Neil worked at both publishers, writing and overseeing stories starring a wide range of superheroes, from Superman to Doctor Strange.

HBO Max boss says Justice League Snyder Cut “not a precedent” after fans call for Suicide Squad Ayer Cut

Following the success of #ReleaseTheSnyderCut, fans have been calling on Warner Bros. to release David Ayer’s director’s cut of Suicide Squad. Speaking on The Vergecast, however, HBO Max boss Tony Goncalves rubbished fans’ hopes, saying their Justice League plans are “not a precedent” for other fan campaigns.

Following the streaming platforms’ announcement that Zack Snyder will release his cut of the critically-panned Justice League movie next year, Suicide Squad director David Ayer has been calling for the same treatment. Ayer posted on Twitter : “My cut would be easy to complete. It would be incredibly cathartic for me. The film I made has never been seen.”

This frank admission led to fans calling on the studio to #ReleaseTheAyerCut. Yet, they may have to campaign a little harder for anything to come to fruition. “Look, [the Snyder Cut] definitely [is] not a precedent,” HBO’s Goncalves said. “There’s different types of fandoms.
